Contemporary Residence at Hillside

project description

This Colorado modern home located just north of Denver was created for a landscape architect who understands that true luxury is connection to place, to purpose, to nature. From the start, the vision was clear: design a home that doesn’t sit on the land, but belongs to it. A home where nature isn’t added in later, it’s built-in from the beginning.

At the center of the home, a single tree rises in a quiet glass atrium, encircled by a sculptural floating staircase. More than a design feature, the tree becomes a moment of calm. A pause. A vertical connection to the natural world, experienced from within the core of the home.

At the rear of the home, the kitchen opens directly to the landscape with 16 feet of glass wall. No thresholds, no hesitation. One step and you’re outside, immersed in native plantings, dappled sunlight, and carefully choreographed garden paths. This seamless transition from interior to exterior speaks to the heart of the project: architecture that invites you to live with the land, not just on it.

Natural materials, restrained detailing, and soft light define every space. Nothing is loud. This is a contemporary Colorado home where architecture defers to nature, and in doing so, becomes timeless.
